With high-voltage live line repair technology – hotline technology – Hanoi Power Corporation has been able to repair high-voltage networks while energized, eliminating the need for long power outages as in the past.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Van, Deputy Director of the 110 kV Power Grid Management Enterprise under the Corporation, stated that hotline technology includes equipment for covering power lines and protective clothing with 300 components such as gloves, operation poles, and insulated platforms… creating an absolutely insulated and safe environment for workers when repairing live high-voltage networks.
Although hotline technology requires more repair time compared to traditional methods, it does not affect production and the electricity needs of residents.
Mr. Van noted that after Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation, Hanoi Power Corporation is the second unit in the country to apply this technology.
