The hacker community has successfully bypassed the protective mechanism (crack) in Google’s hidden search function for various types of malware, which was previously reserved exclusively for security and antivirus companies.
Normally, Google’s search engine can find anything on the internet, but that’s just the surface. There is another hidden function designed to search for malware—a mechanism that was exclusive to security firms.
According to researchers at Secure Computing, the key to finding malware in Google lies in the signature assigned to each specific malware program. These experts believe that this hidden search technology in Google has recently fallen into the hands of hackers, which poses significant dangers.
“Why not create a new virus, worm, or Trojan simply by using Google and downloading it? Even inexperienced hackers can utilize Google’s new functionality to download malware and spread it online instead of putting in the effort to write their own,” stated Paul Henry, Vice President of Strategy at Secure Computing.
