The Vietnam Fund for Technical Innovation (VIFOTEC) announced that 10 projects by Vietnamese students participating in the international exhibition for student innovation in 2006 in Seoul, South Korea, from July 20 to July 24, 2006, all won medals.
Among these, 3 projects won Gold Medals, 4 projects won Silver Medals, 3 projects won Bronze Medals, and 1 project received a special award from the Thailand Association for Innovation.
The Gold Medal-winning projects included: “Warehouse Robot” by the team of Pham Vien An, Nguyen Binh Phuong, and Phan Nhut Hoai Nhat Tin from 11th grade, Pham Van Dong High School, Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Thuan; “Water Surface Garbage Collecting Robot” by the team of Pham Van Dai and Pham Van Luong from 12th grade, Do Son High School, Hai Phong; and “Multi-Purpose Transport Machine” by Nguyen Trung Dung from 9th grade, Yen Son Middle School, Tam Diep, Ninh Binh.
The 2006 International Exhibition for Student Innovation was organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA), VIFOTEC, the permanent agency of the National Youth and Children’s Innovation Contest organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, in collaboration with the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, attracting participants from 16 countries.
The projects from Vietnam participating in this event were the top award-winning projects from the first National Youth and Children’s Innovation Contest held in 2005.
