The Laser Technology Center (Application Technology Institute – Ministry of Science and Technology) has successfully conducted trial production of laser engraving machines.

The laser engraving machines are directly connected to a computer. Images, logos, patterns, and text are pre-designed on the computer.
Once the material is placed in the engraving machine, it is exposed to a high-powered laser beam (105W/cm2) that is sufficient to vaporize part of the material, creating a high-definition engraving. The machines can engrave on various materials such as mother-of-pearl inlay, textiles, thick leather, rubber, mica, and glass.
The average engraving speed of the machine is 8 seconds per square centimeter.
