The latest version of Yahoo’s chat software has officially launched, featuring over 180 exciting new functionalities.
Yahoo Instant Messenger with Voice not only caters to your chatting needs but also allows you to enjoy VoIP calls freely. This is in addition to more than 180 various plug-in features – an unprecedented record in the history of this service.
For example, a new plug-in called Yahoo Avatar Space allows users to interact with their avatars and change their emotional states at will. Additionally, you can customize the Avatar Space with different decorative templates and images sourced from Yahoo Image Search.

Yahoo Movie Trailer lets you browse through the latest movie trailers, watch them in a small window or full screen while still chatting with friends as usual.
Another feature, Yahoo Finance, will allow users to track stock prices and recommend good stocks to friends.
You should also try Pando, a plug-in that enables quick file sharing. YEmote allows you to access secret icons; Yahoo Greetings eCard lets you send e-cards while chatting, and finally, Eazibo, a plug-in that allows you to share photos, charts, and tables.
The Beta version of Yahoo Messenger with Voice was announced last month. Two weeks ago, Yahoo also declared that their IM chat service is now integrated with Microsoft’s MSN chat service. In the long run, users will be able to make VoIP calls freely between the two networks.
Yahoo is not the only giant investing in its IM platform. Last month, Microsoft launched Windows Live Messenger, a service that automatically updates contact information and lets you share files via drag-and-drop on the contact list.
Meanwhile, AOL introduced a free AIM phone service, and Google Talk supports VoIP from computer to computer.
