Residents Discover Python in Pet Enclosure, Consuming Two Cats in Thailand
The python barely moved out of the cage after a hearty meal.
Recently, a 3-meter-long wild python was spotted lurking around a pet enclosure in Ang Thong Province, Thailand, where it preyed on sleeping cats. The snake slithered through blue mesh fencing and seized the unsuspecting felines before swallowing them whole.
After its feast, the python remained almost motionless inside the enclosure. The pet owner was horrified to discover the situation the following morning, prompting them to call rescue services to evacuate the creature.
A video posted on Newsflare.com shows the python with a bulging belly lying inside the cat enclosure as the distraught pet owner informs rescue volunteers of the incident.
Ratha Tapianthong, a rescue volunteer, remarked on the scene: “The python likely stalked the cats and waited for the right moment to strike. It had prepared itself for a massive meal and was able to consume both cats in one sitting.”
Animal rescuers managed to extract the python from the enclosure.
In a shocking turn of events, the python regurgitated the two cats in front of the astonished pet owner.
The rescuers placed the python into a bag and released it back into the wild, far from the village.
Reticulated Pythons are found throughout Southeast Asia, inhabiting forests, swamps, canals, and even urban areas, leading to conflicts with humans. This species is one of the largest snakes in the world and is capable of preying on humans, cats, dogs, birds, rodents, and other snakes. |
