Hair loss is a common concern for many men. Various hair growth treatments, dietary changes, hairstyles, and even wigs are often “invested in” in hopes of reclaiming what they believe makes them less attractive to women.
However, according to a study from the University of Pennsylvania (USA), women actually show a greater preference for men… who are completely bald.

Researchers conducted a study involving male and female student volunteers, who were asked to evaluate images of various men.
The volunteer group assessed each photo based on three criteria: attractiveness, confidence, and dominance. The results showed that naturally bald men received the highest ratings.
Additionally, bald men tend to appear taller in the eyes of the opposite sex.
“Men are rated as being over 2.5 cm taller and 13% more powerful when photographed bald compared to when they have hair</em," the research team stated. “When hair is added to the photos of bald men, other factors do not make a difference.”

A study by Professor Frank Muscarella from Barry University found that bald men often hold more social dominance compared to their counterparts.
Researchers discovered that although men with hair may appear more attractive, bald men tend to have higher social status.
During the study, Dr. Frank Muscarella asked participants to evaluate the men in the survey based on four criteria: attractiveness, energy, interest, and maturity. Some participants viewed photos of men with full heads of hair, while others saw images of the same men but digitally altered to remove their hair. The surprising result was that bald men were rated as more honest, intelligent, and masculine.
Therefore, researcher Manners suggests that men with thinning hair or natural baldness should consider shaving their heads to appear more attractive.

In another survey, researchers from Saarland University analyzed data based on a poll of 20,000 participants. The results showed that bald men often appear older than their actual age but are perceived as wiser and more intelligent.
The downside is that being bald can make you look about four years older than you are. However, according to scientists, there’s no need for excessive concern, as the public still views middle-aged bald stars as symbols of strength, attractiveness, masculinity, and leadership: Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson…

However, the studies apply specifically to those who are completely bald. Research indicates that men who are only partially bald are often perceived as weak and less masculine. This is because people believe that shaving one’s entire head signifies a strong statement that the man is fully in control of his situation and unashamed of his appearance. This confidence is what makes him attractive.
“Instead of spending billions of dollars each year on hair loss treatments, men can confidently flaunt their bald heads as it enhances their attractiveness in the eyes of women,” the research team concluded.
