At approximately 10:45 AM on June 7, the Bạch Long Vỹ Border Guard Station received an urgent distress call from Mr. Võ Văn Tánh (born 1995, residing in Khu 1, Cô Tô District, Quảng Ninh Province, captain of fishing vessel QN-0606TS). According to Mr. Tánh, one fisherman was injured while fishing in an area about 12 nautical miles northeast of Bạch Long Vỹ Island.
Upon receiving the report, the Bạch Long Vỹ Border Guard Station dispatched vessel BP-020604 along with 8 officers and soldiers and 2 staff members from the Bạch Long Vỹ Military-Civilian Medical Center to urgently approach fishing vessel QN-0606TS to rescue the victim. By 12:35 PM on the same day, the rescue team reached fishing vessel QN-0606 TS.
The injured fisherman was identified as Mr. Võ Văn Đạt (born 1990, residing in Cô Tô District, Quảng Ninh Province). Authorities confirmed that the victim was attacked by a shark while diving.
At the time the rescue team arrived, Mr. Đạt was in a state of shock due to blood loss, with a severe contusion on his right calf and a slow pulse. He was quickly transferred to vessel BP-020604 for cardiac support, IV fluid therapy, and then transported to the Bạch Long Vỹ Military-Civilian Medical Center for further emergency treatment.
Dr. Phạm Văn Hải, Director of the Bạch Long Vỹ Military-Civilian Medical Center, stated: “The patient received timely emergency care and has passed the critical stage due to significant blood loss. However, upon arrival at the center, after stabilizing the patient’s overall condition, examinations revealed that the injuries were quite severe; we only performed initial first aid, blood transfusion, and stabilization of blood pressure before transferring the patient to the mainland.”
