The Southern Regional Hydro-Meteorological Center has reported that the southwest monsoon continues to maintain strong intensity in the southern region. In the evening, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to last until June 2. In the northern region, heavy rain is still anticipated today and tomorrow.
Specifically, on May 30, the weather in the Southern region will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy, with scattered rain and thunderstorms at night, and intermittent sunshine during the day. Rain will primarily concentrate in the evening, with widespread rainfall expected today, including moderate to heavy rain in some areas. During thunderstorms, it is important to be cautious of dangerous weather phenomena such as lightning, gusts, and strong winds.

Meanwhile, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting predicts that rainfall in the Central Highlands and Southern region will reach between 20-60mm, with some areas experiencing heavy rain exceeding 60mm.
From May 30 to 31, the mountainous and midland areas of the Northern region will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas receiving very heavy rain, averaging 50-100mm per event, and some exceeding 120mm per event. The Northern Delta will have scattered rain and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.
The cause of the heavy rain in the North is due to the combination of a low-pressure trough and high-altitude wind disturbances. By the end of May 31, rainfall in the Northern region is expected to gradually decrease.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of flash floods, landslides, and flooding in low-lying areas in the provinces of Lai Châu, Sơn La, Điện Biên, Hòa Bình, Lào Cai, Yên Bái, Phú Thọ, Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Cao Bằng, and Lạng Sơn.
