The Nexus Submarine is equipped with a battery that provides 18 hours of operational time and features a large observation window for an expansive view for passengers.
The submarine manufacturing company U-Boat Worx (Netherlands) has introduced a new submarine model named Nexus, as reported by New Atlas on April 22. The Nexus comes in two versions: the first version can accommodate 8 passengers (including two children) and one pilot, while the second version can carry a total of 7 people. Both versions feature a large elliptical pressure hull with business-class seating inside and approximately 914 liters of space allocated for each person.

U-Boat Worx has installed the largest entry door ever on a submarine of Nexus’s size, allowing passengers to enter and exit easily, and a passenger lift can also be added. Passengers will enjoy unrestricted views through the wide observation windows.
The Nexus is optimized for deployment from a ship and can also be launched from land. The wireless controller allows for navigation away from the support vessel while keeping the Nexus in the correct position. The submarine can dive to depths of approximately 200 meters.
The Nexus is powered by a 62 kWh Li-ion battery that withstands pressure well, providing 18 hours of operational time on a single charge, sufficient for 10 dives per day. U-Boat Worx claims this is currently the fastest passenger submarine available. The vessel is equipped with 10 propulsion motors of 6.4 kW each, allowing for a maximum speed of 5.6 km/h and the ability to maneuver in any direction.
Like other submarines from U-Boat Worx, the Nexus is likely aimed at serving high-end tourism, charter companies, and private clients. U-Boat Worx has not disclosed pricing information, but it is expected to be relatively expensive.
