The existence of demons in this world remains a significant question. However, when you look at the terrifying images below, it’s hard not to believe in their existence.
The Girl Sitting on a Grave
In 1991, the photograph “The Girl Sitting on a Grave” appeared widely in the American press, including reputable publications like the Chicago Sun-Times and National Examiner, serving as evidence of the mystical existence of a surreal spiritual world.
This black-and-white photograph was taken on August 10, 1991, during an experiment by a group of GRS members at the Bachelor’s Grove cemetery. Jude Huff-Felz, the photographer, was perhaps the only one in the group who managed to capture these rare images, as all the equipment and devices brought that day suddenly malfunctioned inexplicably.
“The Girl Sitting on a Grave” unexpectedly appeared in the lens, depicting a young woman with a pale face and a despondent demeanor. Her attire was outdated by several decades. The most chilling detail is that parts of her figure appeared transparent like crystal.
The Face on the Window
The husband of the woman in the photograph took this image on a sunny afternoon using regular film. It was their first day moving into a new apartment in Chicago, Illinois. Behind the left window was clearly visible the face of an old woman with her hair tied up, sitting next to a bull dog, but the couple firmly stated that no one was in the house at that time.
The Ghost in the Woods
Not much is known about the events related to this photograph, except for one detail: both individuals in the image have passed away. Next to the tree trunk, you can clearly see a shape that resembles fog whose identity remains uncertain.
The Boy on the Grass
A woman named Jackie Rhame from Florala, Alabama captured this moment during a visit to Six Flags Great America amusement park in Arlington, Texas. It was drizzling with a lot of fog, yet the C-126 camera recorded a clear image of a young boy wearing a red sweater with a white shirt collar peeking out.
The Red Shadow by the Stream
The owner of this eerie photograph asserts that at the moment of capture, no sunlight was shining directly into the lens, thus, there could not have been a lens flare effect creating the red shadow. Furthermore, the shadow appears prominently in the center of the image, resembling a human figure.
The photograph was taken by a stream in a national preserve.
The Lovers by the Grave
In November 1982, Sahah from Chicago, Illinois captured this photograph using an SX-70 camera right at her mother’s grave, who passed away in 1934 at the age of 83. At that time, the term “photo manipulation” was likely unheard of, and the SX-70 camera produced this original photo 60 seconds after it was taken.
In the ethereal image, you can clearly see the details of the “ghost” couple: a young woman with brown hair sitting and cradling a black pet in her lap, while her boyfriend next to her affectionately wraps his arm around her waist. The young man wears a blue t-shirt that appears to have some text printed on it.
The Monks at Hull House
This worn black-and-white photograph was accidentally taken by Dale Kaczmarek at Hull House in Chicago, Illinois in November 1980.
The author claims that no characters were lingering in the lens at the time of the shot, but the image reveals four monks standing on the last steps at the foot of the staircase. The central “monk” is striking the traditional Buddhist pose: hands clasped together, while the other three seem to stand through the stair railing, and appear to be headless.
Close to the right of Bill Rodgers – a four-time champion of the Boston and New York marathons – is a human skeleton unmistakably clear. The ribs, spine, and pelvis are all prominently visible as if there were a model right beside them.
The Apparition of a Skeleton
Christophe DiCesare, a student at New York University in Geneseo, took this photograph in room C2D1 of Erie Hall in 1985 using a 35MM camera.
After several investigations and “digging into history,” the mischievous students finally uncovered the background of the skeletal ghost. It belonged to a boy named “Tommy,” who had committed suicide in the dormitory a few years prior. Since then, students living there have occasionally experienced mysterious pulls. One night, a student nearly had a heart attack when he saw a friend wearing a striped football shirt, with his head oddly tilted to one side.
Shape of the Mind
This photograph was taken with an old Polaroid camera in 1959, at a house located in northern Hanover Park, Illinois, which has long since been demolished. There’s nothing notable about the girl who is lost in thought on the steps, but what remains unexplained is the object that is half-transparent moving down the stairs.
It seems that the ethereal smoke is emanating from the girl’s body, and according to some people’s rich imagination, it originates from deep within her mind. An apparition of thought, or in other words, the soul essence escaping from a living body. This image falls into the category of spiritual photography.
Heavenly Fire
It was a warm Sunday afternoon in June 1980 at Three Gap Valley, located 12 miles west of Revelstoke, British Columbia, Canada. The photograph captured two sisters stopping at a roadside motel, with a steep rocky incline behind them. However, why does the mountain range appear oddly cut, and what are the lights swirling in the sky? It’s hard to blame the camera, as it was one of the most modern models of that time – a Balda camera using 120 roll film.
The Soldier’s Ghost
A visitor at the federal cemetery near the Carnton Mansion in Franklin, Tennessee, captured this scene quite by accident. At first glance, there seems to be nothing unusual, but if you look closely at the upper right corner of the photograph, lingering behind the trees is the silhouette of a soldier. Upon closer inspection, it is clearly the uniform of a Confederate soldier.
Ghosts at Gettysburg
This photograph was taken by Chris Payne from Woodbridge, New Jersey, during a field trip to the Gettysburg battlefield in 1988, using an Instamatic 110 camera with flash at twilight. Right next to her sister, Terri Payne—the woman in the photo—there is a strange half-blue, half-white glowing mist near the cannon wheel.
Of course, at the time of the photo, neither sister saw this anomaly. Moreover, this mist did not appear in any other pictures from the same roll of film. Some even claim to see a faint face hidden in the ethereal fog.
A Mysterious Orb in the Cemetery
No one has explained why there is a floating orb in the darkness in the Mt. Thabor Cemetery in northern Illinois. The photo was taken by an individual named Dale Kaczmarek one summer night in June 1998 using a Polaroid camera.
A Friendly Ghost
Little is known about the strange image behind this photo. However, it was captured by a Nokia 7250 phone in Eastwood, Manila, clearly showing a ghostly hand grasping the arm of a woman in the picture. At the time the photo was taken, no one saw or felt the presence of this friendly-looking spirit.
