After a major storm, a resident in British Columbia (Canada) went out to clean up his yard and discovered a treasure of the ancient Salish people eerily revealed in his garden.
According to Ancient Origins, the war club in question is a rare and valuable artifact. However, a kind-hearted man named Mark Lake decided to return the “artifact from our ancestors” to its rightful owners – the K’omoks Indigenous tribe.

Chief Nicole Rempel of the K’omoks First Nation community stated that it is an intriguing artifact. “I have been working with various individuals since 2013 to help repatriate artifacts that symbolize our nation, but we have never seen an item like this, completely intact,” he said.
According to the chief, studying this artifact could provide valuable historical data due to its exceptionally good state of preservation.
He revealed that the treasure will be handed over to scientists to determine its age, conduct experiments to identify the type of stone it is made from, where it was sourced, whether it was ever traded, and its full significance.
The chemical composition of the stone and any residues on the club, as well as DNA samples found on it, are expected to help reconstruct the history that this mysterious war club has experienced alongside its owners.
The Salish people are Indigenous Americans on the West Coast, having inhabited Southwest British Columbia and Western Washington (USA) for over 10,000 years. While it has not yet been determined which historical period the war club belongs to, it is speculated to be very ancient, possibly several thousand years old.
