Fighting with a porcupine, a dog named after the god of thunder – Thor, suffered a devastating defeat, prompting its owner to seek online help for medical expenses.
According to Daily Mail, Adriano Bertoline, who lives in the metropolitan area of Araras in São Paulo, Brazil, owns a 3-year-old dog named Thor. This name is inspired by the famous thunder god from Norse mythology.
However, despite sharing a name with the legendary deity, the dog possesses no superpowers. Recently, while playfully challenging a porcupine to a one-on-one duel, Thor faced a humiliating defeat. The dog was attacked by the porcupine, receiving hundreds of quills embedded in its face and body.
In unbearable pain and unable to rise, the poor dog lay in the backyard, whimpering until its owner discovered it.
Challenging the porcupine twice, the dog named Thor faced disastrous outcomes.
Seeing his beloved pet injured with hundreds of quills, Adriano Bertoline was heartbroken and intended to take the dog to a veterinary hospital for treatment. However, having just lost his job and needing to support four young children, Adriano could not afford the medical expenses for Thor.
Feeling desperate, Adriano Bertoline posted about the incident on Facebook, appealing for help. “I woke up to find my beloved dog in such a terrible condition. Is there any veterinary hospital willing to help? I truly have no money left,” he wrote.
Local politician Jose Roberto Apolari immediately reached out to Adriano Bertoline upon hearing the story and took Thor to a veterinary hospital for free treatment. After receiving care, Thor was returned home to recuperate and regain his health.
Adriano Bertoline expressed immense gratitude to politician Apolari, referring to him as “Thor’s guardian angel.” He also mentioned that Thor had fought with a porcupine last February, and the outcome was not much different this time; the dog had received hundreds of quills but still failed to learn from the experience. Once again, Thor suffered a humiliating defeat.
