According to reports, geologists have discovered over 40 gold veins with reserves of 300 tons at a depth of 2,000 meters beneath the Vankou Gold Mine in Pingjiang County.
The gold reserves at this site, located at a depth of 3,000 meters, are estimated to exceed 1,000 tons, with a total value of 600 billion yuan (approximately 83 billion USD).
Chen Rulin, an ore exploration expert at the Hunan Geological Bureau, noted that many drilled rock cores contain gold. He further mentioned that 1 ton of ore at a depth of 2,000 meters contains up to 138 grams of gold.
Meanwhile, Liu Yongjun, Deputy Director of the Hunan Geological Bureau, stated that new ore exploration technologies, such as 3D geological modeling, have been employed at the Vankou Gold Mine.
According to him, gold has also been found when drilling around the perimeter of the site, opening up promising prospects.
