Let’s take a look at the results of this dramatic battle!
At a dry river in Mana Pools National Park located in northern Zimbabwe, a herd of approximately 300 buffalo fell into an ambush set by a pride of 30 lions, resulting in the capture of three calves. However, unexpected events unfolded shortly after.
Watch the video:
First, the herd of buffalo rescued one calf that was by the riverbank. This calf quickly regained consciousness and was saved by its herd. Next, the pride of lions managed to catch two other calves in the riverbed, but they were counterattacked by the buffalo herd.
Despite their efforts, the herd could only save one of the two calves. Unfortunately, one calf became a meal for the predators. It was dragged ashore by the lions and devoured. However, without their unity, the buffalo herd might have suffered much greater losses.
