The Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the proposal from the Department of Transport regarding the pilot implementation of electric bus routes in the city. The first electric buses are expected to hit the roads today (December 2).
Initially, Hanoi will pilot 3 electric bus routes, including: the My Dinh – Ocean Park urban area route; the Long Bien – Cau Giay – Ocean Park urban area route; and the My Dinh Bus Station – Ocean Park urban area route. In the first quarter of 2022, the city will continue to open 2 additional routes: Hao Nam – Ocean Park urban area and Giap Bat – Ocean Park urban area. By the second quarter of 2022, 4 more routes will be implemented: Long Bien – Cua Nam – Smart City urban area; Vo Chi Cong Inter-agency – Times City urban area; Smart City urban area – West Lake Water Park; and Smart City urban area – Vincom Long Bien.
Notably, Hanoi will prioritize opening routes that connect with the urban railway line 2A Cat Linh – Ha Dong.
