The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced plans to build the octagonal floating industrial city OXAGON in the Red Sea, operating entirely on clean energy.
OXAGON City will be located on the outskirts of a new area called NEOM, designed to transform how people live and work in the future, providing sustainable solutions to replace current lifestyles.

“OXAGON will be a catalyst for economic development and diversification in NEOM, aligning with our goals under the Vision 2030 strategy, helping to protect the environment while creating jobs and contributing to the development of NEOM,” said Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
OXAGON will adhere to the principle of living in harmony with nature and will be one of the most advanced logistics centers in the world, integrating the most modern seaport and airport. The city will be carbon-neutral and will use 100% clean energy.
OXAGON will utilize cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), integrating humans and machines, predictive artificial intelligence, and robotics. The project will serve seven sectors, including sustainable energy, automated transportation, clean water initiatives, sustainable food production, healthcare, technology and digital manufacturing (including telecommunications, space technology, and robotics), and modern construction methods.
The Saudi government’s announcement did not disclose the cost of building this future city. However, OXAGON will closely coordinate with NEOM to provide all services. The new project bears many similarities to The Line, a carbon-neutral city.
