The black Labrador dog giving birth to puppies of yellow, brown, and black colors in the same litter is extremely rare in the world.

Zola, a black Labrador, has given birth to 10 puppies with different fur colors. This case of a Labrador giving birth to mixed-color puppies in the same litter is exceptionally rare. It is the result of a breeding program initiated 15 years ago by the couple Tina Davis and Martin Davis, Zola’s owners.
Tina Davis, 62, and her husband Martin Davis, 63, began breeding with a brown dog in 2006. In the following years, the couple moved to Horsham, West Sussex, to breed mixed colors, producing yellow, brown, and black puppies in succession. Recently, they decided to mix DNA to create a litter with all three colors.
The final result showed that 10 puppies were born, with two yellow, three brown, and five black.
Tina Davis stated: “We really love dogs. We wanted to prove that proper breeding can lead to success. Initially, when we started the breeding program, we planned to produce both male and female puppies in all three colors, and now we have achieved that. Labrador dogs often face many genetic issues, so not only regarding color, you also have to ensure that a healthy puppy is born.”
This litter is the result of the breeding program.
A bred Labrador can cost up to $4,692, but Tina decided to sell this new litter at a lower price because she values that the puppies go to loving families who will take good care of them.
“If we wanted, we could sell this litter for much more because they carry extremely valuable genetic traits. But we are not very concerned about the money; what matters more is that they find good owners who will care for them well,” Tina Davis said.
The couple has a long waiting list of people wanting to own a puppy from their breeding program.
Tina Davis added: “We have gone through a long and challenging time breeding Zola. Therefore, we plan to take a little break before returning to other breeding projects. Regardless of their color, we hope that every puppy becomes a wonderful pet in any family they join.”
