A severe dust storm swept through Central California, wreaking havoc on the cities and transportation systems.
This rare dust storm caused a multi-vehicle accident and left residents in the Central Valley of California without power on November 11, 2024.
Emily Wilson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford, stated that the storm was referred to as a Haboob, which affected the valley from approximately 1 PM to after 4 PM. Several individuals were injured in the accident on California Highway 99. In addition, Pacific Gas & Electric reported power outages affecting around 15,000 residents in Fresno County as the storm swept through.
