A wild sparrow flew into the home of a couple in Slovenia and is now living with them as a pet, refusing to leave even after being set free.
Alesh and Janja, a young couple from Koper, Slovenia, were incredibly surprised when they saw a sparrow about 10 days old fly into their home. At first, they didn’t pay much attention, but the sparrow kept showing up inside, refusing to leave.

The couple decided to adopt and care for it, naming it Chibi. Initially, Chibi required frequent feeding every half hour, which Alesh and Janja struggled to manage. However, over time, they adjusted to the schedule and consistently met Chibi’s needs. Chibi grew quickly and adapted to life in Alesh and Janja’s home.
After some time, Alesh and Janja realized that they could not keep Chibi confined in their apartment forever and were ready to let it fly free and return to nature.
However, what happened next surprised Alesh and Janja immensely. The first time they took Chibi outside to say goodbye, they prepared to send the sparrow off into the sky with other sparrows.

Chibi did fly away, but only to stretch its wings and explore the surroundings. Alesh and Janja did not expect the sparrow to return, but that is exactly what Chibi did. It flew a short distance and then came back, refusing to leave.
Alesh and Janja described Chibi as a very curious bird that loves to explore its environment. At the same time, it is very attached to the couple and will always come to spend time with them, even waking Alesh and Janja up in the morning. The only time it is alone is when it goes to sleep.
Although Chibi has a specially made cage, it always uses the entire apartment as its home.
The only time Chibi strayed far from Alesh and Janja was when it followed another sparrow. The couple spent about 11 hours searching for Chibi before it returned home on its own.
Chibi has become famous on social media, with its owners creating an Instagram account that has over 13.5 thousand followers. They frequently share images of Chibi’s daily life on its personal page.
