The delighted expression of the albino crocodile while being scrubbed by a zookeeper has made many people laugh.
According to the Daily Mail, a recent video featuring a pure white baby albino crocodile went viral on social media due to the humorous expression of the little creature when the zoo manager “scratched the right spot.”
The video was filmed at the Reptile Park located in Fountain Valley, California, USA. The baby crocodile, named Coconut, was being brushed all over its body by a zookeeper named Juliette Brewer to remove dead skin and ensure cleanliness. It seemed that Juliette was scratching Coconut in just the right spot, as the little one opened its mouth and closed its eyes in enjoyment.
Baby crocodile named Coconut goes viral on social media for its humor.
Coconut’s expression made anyone who watched it burst into laughter due to its adorableness. Therefore, shortly after being posted on social media, the video quickly became viral on Instagram, amassing millions of views and over 102,000 likes.
An Instagram user, Lance Turner, commented: “For an animal that usually lacks facial expressions like crocodiles, this baby crocodile’s face shows it is very happy and delighted.”
Meanwhile, another user named Ashley Aguirre added: “Her smile… is just so cute!”.
Albino crocodiles are currently classified as rare and endangered species that need protection.
There are only about 200 albino crocodiles left in the world, making Coconut a rare animal that requires conservation.
Albino crocodiles are born without melanin pigmentation, which gives them their white color. They also have pale pink eyes instead of the usual black and green.
Due to their lack of natural camouflage protection, they are often preyed upon by predators from a young age. This has led to the rarity of albino crocodiles, placing them on the endangered species list.
