What kind of “monster” did the man catch?
A man in Japan went fishing at sea and accidentally discovered a bizarre creature while pulling in his net. Noticing something unusual, he approached to take a closer look, only to be startled by the creature. This creature had a terrifying appearance that could easily make anyone shudder.
However, the “monster” showed no signs of life. He carefully picked it up for a thorough examination and found that it resembled an alien monster from a movie. Its mouth had protruding teeth, and its head lacked eyes.

At this moment, the man felt extremely frightened. Could this be an extraterrestrial creature? He decided to investigate the true origin of this animal and sent it to the local Marine Biology Institute for examination.
After testing, scientists revealed that this was not an alien species but a type of creature that lives in the deep sea, specifically a giant sea worm known as Eulagisca gigantea. This sea worm has scales and typically resides in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. They are brownish-gray and have no patterns on their bodies. They usually live at depths ranging from 40 to 700 meters.

Eulagisca gigantea has a flat body and up to 15 pairs of scales on its back. They possess a pair of large jaws with teeth protruding from their throats. Due to living in an extremely harsh environment, Eulagisca gigantea is particularly voracious, eating all types of food, including detritus and leftovers.
Marine researchers stated that this type of sea worm can be found in various locations around the world, but this is the first time they have seen a sea worm of such size. It measured 20 cm in length and 10 cm in width. Ultimately, they suggested that the man donate the sea worm for research purposes.
