The Icehotel is constructed from blocks of ice from the Torne River in the village of Jukkasjärvi each winter.
Icehotel was established in 1989, and the entire hotel undergoes a redesign each year after the ice melts in spring. Visitors to Icehotel can choose from various options, including standard rooms entirely made from ice, including the beds. Additionally, the Art Suite offers a more unique experience, as each room features its own distinct design, sculpted by artisans from around the world. (Photo: Ice Hotel).
Moreover, visitors can tour during the day with an entrance fee of $34 for adults and free for children under 15. The Icerbar and the art gallery are open from 10 AM to 5 PM. (Photo: The Travel).
Room rates at Icehotel 365 vary by season. The Art Suite 365 is priced at $1,150 for 2 nights, accommodating 1-2 people, with each room featuring a unique design. (Photo: Ice Hotel).
A more premium option is the Deluxe Suite Johka, which accommodates 1-3 people and is priced at $2,000 for 2 nights. The temperature in the room is always maintained between -8 to -5 degrees Celsius. Similar to the Art Suite 365, the design of each Deluxe Suite is different and completely handcrafted. Additionally, the Deluxe Suite features a private bathroom with a relaxing steam room, a bed covered with reindeer leather, and a thermal sleeping bag. (Photo: Ice Hotel).
Furthermore, since Icehotel is located in northern Sweden, there are many activities and attractions in the Arctic for visitors. This area boasts stunning landscapes in the summer with very long days, sometimes with the sun shining all night. Visitors can experience rafting on the Torne River, fishing, tree-top adventures, stand-up paddleboarding, and climbing during the summer. (Photo: Ice Hotel).
In winter, the nights are very long, and tourists can participate in dog sledding activities. Notably, this is the time when the stunning natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights occurs.
