A blue glass bottle containing a brown liquid has been found. It was placed between the legs of the skeleton of a woman who died at the age of 60. The outside of the bottle is engraved with the words “Hull Infirmary.”
The bottle was discovered earlier this year during an excavation project at the Trinity burial site in Hull. This burial site dates from 1783 to 1861. Experts are examining over 1,500 other skeletons in search of clues about the past.

An expert from Nottingham Trent University is conducting research on the mysterious bottle.
Expert Katie Dalmon from Nottingham Trent stated that initial tests show the presence of sodium, potassium, and phosphorus inside the bottle. “This liquid could be urine, but if that’s the case, why was it placed there? And if it’s not urine, then what is it?” Dalmon said.
There is also a hypothesis that this liquid might be a phosphorus supplement drink, which was very popular in the 19th century and advertised as a cure for various ailments.
Regarding the skeleton of the woman, experts believe that she suffered from rickets and osteoporosis.
