Reishi Mushroom, scientifically known as Ganoderma lucidum, is a type of fungus belonging to the Ganoderma genus in the Ganodermataceae family.
In the book “Shennong’s Classic of Materia Medica”, reishi mushroom is classified as a superlative herb, more effective than ginseng. In “Compendium of Materia Medica”, reishi is regarded as a precious medicine that can detoxify, enhance heart function, improve cognitive abilities, reduce phlegm, promote urination, and strengthen the stomach. Recently, Chinese and Japanese scientists have discovered that reishi mushrooms can also combat aging, increase lifespan, and prevent cancer.
Numerous research studies worldwide have identified active compounds and determined the pharmacological effects of reishi mushrooms, including germanium, ganoderic acid, ganodermic acid, oleic acid, ganodosteron, ganoderans, adenosine, and beta-D-glucan (notably, reishi contains 5-8 times more germanium than ginseng). Vietnamese scientists have found that reishi contains 21 trace elements essential for the body’s functioning and metabolism, such as copper, iron, potassium, magnesium, sodium, and calcium.
According to traditional medicine, reishi mushrooms have a bland taste and warm properties, providing benefits like nourishing and strengthening the body, benefiting liver function, calming the mind, and enhancing memory.
Today, it is known that the germanium in reishi helps cells absorb oxygen more effectively; polysaccharides boost the body’s immune system, strengthen the liver, and kill cancer cells; ganodermic acid has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties.
The older the reishi, the higher its value.
Reishi mushrooms are valuable, but the Tai Tsu reishi is even more precious due to its rarity in nature. Tai Tsu reishi has a unique appearance, often mistaken for tree stumps, making it difficult to spot. The older this type of reishi is, the higher its value.
This type of mushroom comes in various colors. The red variety resembles coral, the white variety looks like fat, and the black variety appears similar to charcoal. Additionally, there are other colors like green… However, the lighter the color, the better the quality of the mushroom and the higher its nutritional value.
According to several studies, Tai Tsu reishi forms from a combination of bacteria and a unique polymer fungus. This mushroom effectively regulates estrogen. Furthermore, it enhances circulation and strengthens the immune system, making it very beneficial for humans, especially due to its high anti-cancer properties.
Tai Tsu reishi is listed among supreme products. Historically, it was used as tribute to kings. Because of its rarity, on the market, Tai Tsu reishi is priced at $39,000 per gram (over 900 million VND per gram).
