Strange 8km Long Object Found on the Seabed, Suspected to Be Remains of an Ancient City

In just one night, a highly developed civilization was submerged beneath the depths of the ocean, leaving humanity with a significant question that remains unresolved to this day.

Evidence of Atlantis Found?

According to the Daily Star, Scott C. Waring, an avid UFO researcher, recently discovered a strange object measuring up to 5 miles (over 8 km) in length on the ocean floor using Google Earth. He claims that the structure and shape of this object closely resemble the lost city of Atlantis.

Scott C. Waring posted images of this strange object on his blog to share with like-minded individuals. He described the object as perfectly round and believes it is located quite near the Nazca Desert in Peru, a site famous for its gigantic geoglyphs known as the Nazca Lines.

The Nazca Lines are designs created by numerous shallow grooves that expose different layers of colorful sediment. These lines form a collection of depictions of various animal species. They were first discovered from the air in 1939 when a pilot happened to fly over the area. Initially buried deep beneath sand, they were uncovered after strong winds blew the sand away.

Scientists believe the Nazca Lines were created between 200 BC and 600 AD. Spanning over 80 km, the Nazca Lines were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. Currently, archaeologists have yet to explain why the Nazca people created these enormous drawings.

Scott C. Waring believes that these Nazca Lines are connected to the strange object he found on the ocean floor and also related to the mysterious disappearance of the city of Atlantis.

He emphasized: “I believe this strange object is a remarkably symmetrical circular structure resembling the ancient dome of Atlantis. This island existed around 9,000 years ago and vanished mysteriously. However, I think Atlantis was actually an alien spaceship, and the circular object on the ocean floor is evidence of extraterrestrial life and may indeed be the legendary city of Atlantis.”

The city of Atlantis was first mentioned by the ancient Greek philosopher Plato over 2,300 years ago. To this day, Atlantis remains lost, waiting to be discovered by humanity.

Civilization Erased in One Night

The origin of the Atlantis story, as mentioned above, comes from the Greek philosopher Plato (circa 424 to 328 BC). According to National Geographic, the tale of Atlantis is referenced in Plato’s works, Timaeus and Critias. In these dialogues between Socrates, Timaeus, Critias, and Hermocrates, he presents a profound perspective on the world we live in, describing a universe composed of four elements—earth, air, fire, and water—that combine to create the existence of all things. Notably, Atlantis is a significant topic in these discussions.

The city of Atlantis, as described by Plato, was a large island that existed 9,000 years before his birth. Critias’s grandfather recounted the story of Atlantis to him, as told by the philosopher Solon.

Atlantis was protected by the sea god Poseidon in Greek mythology. Plato’s descriptions indicate that this island was larger than both Libya and Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey) combined and was located in the Atlantic Ocean, beyond the “Pillars of Hercules”, which refer to the Strait of Gibraltar today.

The god Poseidon traveled the world searching for the largest island until he found Atlantis, home to the most beautiful and intelligent people. Here, the god fell in love with Cleito. To protect his beloved, Poseidon built the city on top of a secluded hill in the sea and named it Atlantis.

Cleito’s home in Atlantis was surrounded by five rings of water and five channels for ships. The large canal outside connected the rings of water to the ocean. Every route to the city was protected by gates and towers. The surrounding wall was constructed from red, white, and black stone and adorned with precious metals.

Cleito bore Poseidon five pairs of twin sons. The firstborn was named Atlas. The sons inherited the great city, and Atlas became the first ruler of Atlantis. They also constructed a massive temple for their father, featuring a statue of Poseidon riding a gigantic chariot pulled by winged horses. The statue, made of gold, was housed in a spiraled temple that reached high into the clouds.

Atlantis had favorable conditions in both weather and terrain. This allowed Atlantis to have an extraordinary civilization with remarkable advancements. The city’s military was extremely powerful, especially in naval combat. They traveled and occupied vast areas. In Africa, the Atlantis army advanced as far as Egypt, while in Europe, they conquered extensive lands stretching to Tyrrhenia (modern-day central Italy).

However, the history of Atlantis could not endure. In just one night, around 9600 BC, a cataclysmic flood accompanied by devastating earthquakes sank the entire island into the depths of the ocean, disappearing forever. The complete disappearance of a vast fortress along with its civilization has raised numerous questions for humanity.

Theories on the Legend Beneath the Ocean

The story of the immense island with a powerful empire suddenly collapsing and vanishing seems like a fantasy, leading to various theories from experts around the world.

One of the most convincing theories regarding the existence of Atlantis is the view of ocean explorer Robert Ballard. He finds logic in the story due to its similarities with the massive volcanic eruption on the island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea near Greece.

About 4,000 years ago, this area was home to a prosperous civilization known as the Minoans. The Minoans shared many characteristics with the residents of Atlantis. They were highly advanced and existed nearly simultaneously with Atlantis as described by Plato.

However, a volcanic eruption obliterated this civilization. Today, Santorini is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. But whether it was ancient Atlantis remains unverified. Not everyone has a scientific explanation akin to the theory of the Minoan civilization.

In 1970, another bizarre theory emerged. The renowned American linguist Charles Berlitz, famous for his books on paranormal phenomena, hypothesized that Atlantis was swallowed by the “Bermuda Triangle.” The Bermuda Triangle is also located in the Atlantic Ocean and is infamous for incidents of disappearing ships and aircraft that enter this region.

He suggested that the Bermuda Triangle devoured those vessels, and Atlantis suffered a similar fate. However, Bermuda is located far from the Strait of Gibraltar, where Plato claimed Atlantis was situated. Thus, scientists dismissed Berlitz’s idea. Nonetheless, according to the Daily Star, conspiracy theorists still hold on to this belief.

Overall, humans have remained curious and fascinated by this half-mythical, half-real story for thousands of years. Whether Atlantis was indeed a civilization or merely a fictional city in the imagination of the philosopher, Plato has undoubtedly succeeded in creating a legendary Atlantis.
