A social media account shared this photo capturing a strange phenomenon. The photo was taken on October 21st.

Immediately, the post garnered widespread attention from netizens. Many expressed great excitement and believed it to be a “giant beanstalk” from legend. Others suggested it resembled the Ruyi Jingu Bang, the magical staff of Sun Wukong.
Some speculated that it might be the shadow of a very large object on the ground.
A professor from Chulalongkorn University stated that the phenomenon could be a light streak formed when an aircraft flies through clouds. He affirmed that such phenomena can often be seen with the naked eye.
The professor added: “I hope this photo is not edited or a camera error.”

In May of this year, light pillars suddenly appeared in the sky over Tottori Prefecture, Japan. According to Accuweather, light pillars are optical phenomena that occur when light is refracted by ice crystals.
Meteorologist David Samuhel from AccuWeather stated that any light source can create a light pillar under the right conditions.
