“Building the Tallest Twin Towers in the World” will be the theme of the Asia-Pacific Robot Contest 2006 for students, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This theme is inspired by Malaysia’s iconic Petronas Towers, which stand at 452 meters tall. Competing teams will use autonomous robots (with no limit on the number) and one manually controlled robot to construct towers from plastic building blocks. The final competition will take place in Kuala Lumpur from September 8 to September 12, 2006.
Vietnam Television (VTV) has also announced the Robocon 2006 competition in Vietnam, following the same format but with the theme “Reaching for New Heights”. The organizers will accept applications until December 30, 2005. The qualifying rounds across the three regions will run from April 10 to April 15, 2006. The final round will be held in Da Nang from May 21 to May 27, 2006. The championship team will represent Vietnam at the competition in Kuala Lumpur.
