From October 16 to 18, 2005, the 9th Asian Foundry Conference (AFC9) took place in Hanoi, marking the first time this event was hosted in Vietnam. The theme of this conference was: “Tradition, Advancement, and Integration.” The conference attracted a large number of foundry scientists from various countries around the world.
During the conference, attendees had the opportunity to listen to presentations and engage in discussions on approximately 70 scientific reports covering various specialized fields of foundry from countries including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, and Vietnam.
Over the course of three days, the conference successfully achieved its goal of fostering交流 and exchanging new scientific and technological achievements. It aimed to discover special solutions to accelerate the development of the foundry and metallurgy industry, enhancing economic efficiency and product quality while contributing to environmental protection. Additionally, it provided guidance for the future development of the industry. Through this conference, the foundry sector in Vietnam gained valuable experience and specialized skills to support the nation’s construction and development efforts.
