According to information from the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, from September 26 to September 27, the Northern region may experience scattered showers, with sunny weather expected during the afternoon. The highest temperature could reach around 34 degrees Celsius, making it muggy. In the Central region and the Central Highlands, there may be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and overnight, while daytime will remain sunny. The Southern region is also expected to see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night.
From September 28 to October 1, the Northern region may experience rain again before the arrival of the second Northeast monsoon. From around October 1 to October 5, the cold air will become more noticeable. This cold air mass is likely to have intensity similar to the first cold air mass of the season, so temperatures in the Northern region are not expected to drop significantly.
Accordingly, around October 2-3, temperatures are expected to decrease by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. In Hanoi, the highest temperature will drop from 31 degrees Celsius to 27-28 degrees Celsius, with the lowest temperature dropping to 24 degrees Celsius. Cao Bang is one of the provinces that will be affected by the cold air early, with the highest temperature dropping to 27 degrees Celsius and the lowest to 18 degrees Celsius.
Weather forecast for Hanoi and Cao Bang in the next 7 days.
By October 4, temperatures in Hanoi could drop to a minimum of 19-21 degrees Celsius in the early morning. Therefore, residents going to work or school early should wear jackets, light scarves, and hats during this time to avoid catching a cold.
At the same time, in Cao Bang and Lang Son, temperatures are forecasted to drop to 16-18 degrees Celsius.
The National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting also added that cold air activity will gradually increase starting in October, with a trend of increasing frequency and intensity from November.
Additionally, the Northern Delta and Mid-Highlands Meteorological Station reported that cold air and severe cold conditions are likely to be strong in November and December 2024. The phenomenon of severe cold in the Northern region may appear in the second half of December, similar to the average over many years.
In the Northern region, the intensity and frequency of cold air will continue to increase in January and February 2025, causing widespread severe cold. There is a need to be cautious about the possibility of frost, ice, and snow in the mountainous provinces of the Northern region, which may affect public health and agricultural production. The Northeast monsoon could also cause strong winds and high waves affecting activities in the East Sea.
