Solar Cookers: An Innovative Solution from Petech and Ho Chi Minh City Energy Saving Center
According to engineer Phan Tri Dung, the project leader, solar cookers can only be used outdoors and during times of strong sunlight. Users looking to cook need to wear hats; on rainy days, the cooker cannot be used.
Currently, the price of a solar cooker ranges from 950,000 to 1.5 million VND. If equipped with a filtering system that converts brackish water into pure water, the price will increase by an additional 1 million VND. Compared to imported devices, the cost of this solar cooker is only one-fifth.
It is expected that by early December, solar cookers will begin to be assembled in several suburban districts of Ho Chi Minh City and on Truong Sa Island.
