The Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) reported that as of yesterday (November 29), the avian influenza outbreak has re-emerged in 199 communes across 72 districts in 17 provinces and cities nationwide, with a total of 1.74 million poultry being culled.

Provinces with the highest number of affected areas include Ninh Binh (9 districts, 24 communes), Bac Giang (9 districts, 15 communes), Bac Ninh (5 districts, 13 communes), Hai Duong (6 districts, 25 communes), Hung Yen (4 districts, 5 communes), Son La (3 districts, 12 communes), Thanh Hoa (12 districts, 37 communes), Hai Phong (9 districts, 43 communes), Quang Ninh (3 districts, 12 communes), and Nghe An (4 districts, 4 communes)…
In Hung Yen, Phu Tho, Thai Binh, Hoa Binh, and Long An, there have been no new outbreaks reported in the past 14 days. Bac Giang and Thai Nguyen have also seen no new cases in the last 7 days.
Among the 17 provinces still experiencing avian influenza outbreaks (not yet past 21 days), Vinh Phuc, which had been free of the virus for 13 days, has reported a resurgence in 2 districts. The province has culled 166 chickens, 1,283 ducks, and 36,671 quails.
In Hai Phong, on November 28, avian influenza was detected in 5 farms across 3 communes in An Duong district. The total number of culled poultry amounted to 1,900 ducks and 280 chickens. Similarly, in Thanh Hoa, the outbreak continued to spread in 2 poultry farms in 2 communes of Ha Trung and Nga Son districts, resulting in the death of 27 ducks. The total number of poultry culled in the affected area was 5,767 ducks and geese.
