Mozilla Launches Video Ad Contest for Firefox Users
Recently, Mozilla announced a contest inviting video submissions from individuals who are interested in and use the Firefox web browser. This initiative is part of the company’s global marketing and advertising campaign.
Mozilla has created a dedicated website where Firefox users can upload 30-second videos explaining why they love the browser. The second phase of this advertising contest, known as Firefox Flicks, is expected to be revealed in mid-December, targeting dynamic professionals and students.
According to Mozilla, this search for advertising videos stems from earlier fundamental efforts that led to the company securing ad space on two pages of the New York Times in November 2004, which supported the launch of Firefox 1.0.
Additionally, Mozilla stated that the company is embarking on a challenging competition to capture market share from Microsoft, which currently dominates the web browser market with an 86.5% share. In contrast, Firefox only holds an 8.6% market share.
Mozilla emphasized that this latest marketing and advertising program is just the beginning of a series of campaigns the company plans to launch in the coming months.
