Philips Launches Affordable USB Memory Card with Integrated Digital Camera: KeyRing
Philips has recently introduced its first USB memory card integrated with a digital camera called KeyRing, which is both affordable and highly convenient.
In addition to functioning as a USB memory stick for data storage, users can now use the KeyRing USB memory card to capture any images they desire. The camera within this USB KeyRing produces images at a resolution of 1.3 megapixels, which is comparable to the image quality of many popular mobile phones today.
Furthermore, Philips has equipped the KeyRing with Photo Manager Software, allowing users to easily view and edit all of their captured photos.
The KeyRing features a durable hard plastic casing that can easily be attached to a keychain, enabling owners to carry this USB camera with them anywhere and use it at any time.
The integrated camera in the KeyRing is relatively simple. It lacks a screen or viewfinder like those found in mobile phones or dedicated cameras, meaning users will take photos in a “blind” manner. Users simply hold the device at eye level and “automatically” calculate in their minds that the image “might” be fully captured by the lens before pressing the shutter button.
Currently, Philips has only launched the “introductory” version of the KeyRing with a capacity of 64 MB, priced at just $120, capable of capturing approximately 44 images at 1.3 megapixels. With its low price, resistance to impact and scratches, and ease of use anytime (except at night) without the need for “gentleness” like more expensive devices, the KeyRing is sure to be an attractive gift this Christmas season.
