In 1837, near the town of Cosaoke in Ohio, USA, the burial site of a dwarf was discovered. The remains found here were all less than 90 cm tall. However, due to the lack of any artifacts in the burial area, archaeologists faced many challenges in determining the culture and time period of these dwarfs. Nonetheless, the number of skeletons excavated indicates that there was a relatively dense population in this area.
About 100 years later, near the town of Gasper in Wyoming, USA, a team surveying for gold discovered a set of remains known as Munayi when they blasted a rock wall. This Munayi skeleton was found in a seated position, with its legs crossed and arms resting on its knees, resembling a Buddha statue. The appearance of the skeleton suggested it was a middle-aged man, with deeply wrinkled skin, a prominent nose, a broad forehead, and a wide mouth with thin lips. However, his height was only 37 cm. This Munayi skeleton attracted significant attention from anthropologists and archaeologists.
They conducted thorough studies of the skeleton but did not achieve any promising results. Some speculated that it could be a prominent figure, while others argued that he was simply a dwarf from a physiological standpoint. Additionally, researchers focused on the question: Why did this Munayi skeleton appear here? Some hypothesized it could be an ancestor of Native Americans, but this opinion was not widely accepted due to lack of evidence. A few years later, the Munayi skeleton was purchased by an American businessman and brought to New York. After being X-rayed by a museum and verified by anthropological assessments, experts estimated that this individual was 65 years old. At that time, it was noted that in the history of the Shoshone and Crow tribes of Wyoming, there existed legends about the existence of dwarfs. So, does this Munayi belong to that dwarf lineage?
Experts believe that dwarfs are not simply smaller individuals; they are not stunted due to a lack of a necessary bodily factor that prevents them from reaching normal human height.
Legend has it that 1,000 years ago, a tribe of dwarfs existed in certain regions of Poland. After studying numerous remains from this group, Professor Tylunniya from Buchis University suggested that this diminutive population likely lived around the 1st century BC. Later, a dwarf skeleton discovered in Sayasas, France, demonstrated that these skeletons had normal development, appropriate proportions, and showed no signs of deformity, yet their heights ranged from 50 to 70 cm.
Did a race of dwarfs truly exist on Earth? If so, why do ancient historical records fail to document them? To this day, we have not reached a definitive conclusion.
