Yahoo has recently upgraded its Yahoo Messenger instant messaging (IM) application to include new features such as Yahoo 360 and a low-cost PC-to-Phone VoIP calling service, as well as free PC-to-PC calls.
The new version, Yahoo Messenger 7.5.0.333, is noted for its excellent call quality, making VoIP conversations comparable to using a traditional phone at home.
One interesting feature of Yahoo Messenger 7.5.0.333 is the ability for users to assign custom ringtones for each contact in their list. Additionally, a VoiceMail function has been added, allowing friends to reach you through voicemail even when you are offline.
Users can select a personal phone number linked to their computer through Yahoo’s service, with a monthly fee of $2.49. This means that no matter where you are, as long as you are connected to the web, any calls made to your contact number will be redirected to your computer.
For more information about the new version, users can visit the Yahoo Messenger website or download it directly here.
