The Scientific Council of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City has officially approved the completion of the scientific research project “Enhancing Production Capacity and Quality of Animal and Poultry Brucellosis Vaccines through Bacterial Fermentation Technology” (led by Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Tu).
The project aims to perfect the production technology of three types of brucellosis vaccines that meet ASEAN and international quality standards; it also aims to increase the total vaccine production output to tens of millions of doses within a year.
The beneficiary of the above research results is the Central Veterinary Medicine Company. Its director, Mr. Pham Quang Thai, stated that the project results have enabled a production capacity increase of 2-3 times compared to normal levels.
Particularly, the brucellosis vaccine for cattle has already exported millions of doses to Cambodia, Myanmar, and other countries. Currently, the selling price of this vaccine is only one-fifth of the cost of imported vaccines of the same type, allowing it to dominate the domestic market.
