A man worked for a wealthy old man, who promised to pay him after ten years. When the time came, the old man wanted to avoid paying and presented a blanket that was both short and narrow, saying:
– You have to figure out how to cover me with this blanket just right, and then I’ll pay you. Otherwise, you can either go home with nothing, or you can stay for another ten years, and then I’ll pay you for both twenty years.
After saying this, the old man lay flat in the middle of the road. The old man was tall and large, while the blanket was short and narrow, and the servant struggled to cover him. When he covered the old man’s head, his legs were left exposed. Suddenly, the servant had a clever idea: he took the blanket and draped it over the old man’s head, then pulled it down just past his knees. The old man’s legs stuck out, and the servant quickly struck his knees with a stick. In pain, the old man recoiled his legs. Just like that, the blanket fit perfectly over him!
