A new radio program has been launched in Los Angeles specifically for household pets. It broadcasts for 17 hours a day on the radio and can be listened to 24/7 via the website DogCatRadio.com.
This radio program is specially created for indoor pets such as dogs, cats, small rodents, and parrots.
The idea came from Adrian Martinez, the owner of a private recording studio in Los Angeles. According to him, music will help our beloved pets forget their feelings of… loneliness whenever their owners are away.
The priority of this radio program will feature songs or melodies that are familiar and nostalgic to our adorable pets. Interestingly, Elvis’s song “Hound Dog” and the tune “Who Let the Dogs Out (woof, woof, woof, woof)” by the Baha Men seem to be particularly popular.
Adrian Martinez also noted a characteristic of families living in California and the Southwestern states of the U.S. Many of these families commonly use two languages in their communication: English and Spanish. Therefore, the radio programs on DogCatRadio.com also include a special segment called “Spanish Hour” from 5 to 6 PM every day.
It is known that not long ago, farm owners from Australia even wrote to request that DogCatRadio include programs for their… horses.
However, currently, DogCatRadio’s internet radio service has not attracted many listeners, averaging about 8,000 listens per week. The program intends to ramp up its advertising efforts to increase its customer base.
In fact, this is a serious idea, as Americans have spent a staggering $39.5 billion on their beloved pets since the beginning of 2005. This amount is allocated for buying toys, products, and services specialized for these adorable animals, such as electric brushes for dogs and nail grooming services for parrots…
