Macromedia Flash Lite 2 and Flash Player SDK 7 will enable mobile phone users and other electronic device users to view any Flash-enabled website. These two software solutions also allow manufacturers and content providers to customize user interfaces, ensuring compatibility with devices running on various operating systems, processing capabilities, and screen sizes. Currently, application developers and website builders for mobile products face limitations due to the diversity in device storage and size.
According to Adobe, Flash Lite 2 and Flash Player SDK 7 are based on Flash Player 7. As a result, they support Unicode, improve XML data management and operation capabilities, reduce deployment costs, and enhance content delivery speeds.
Several mobile phone manufacturers, including Nokia, Samsung, and Sony Ericsson, have launched devices that allow customers to access Flash-based sites. Adobe estimates that around 45 million Flash-compatible mobile products were shipped in 2005.
Flash is a technology developed by Macromedia, which recently merged with Adobe, and it supports the display and viewing of multimedia content on websites.
