Rice porridge is easily digestible, making it very suitable for children, the elderly, and the sick. Eating porridge combined with some other treatment methods can enhance healing effectiveness, especially in areas far from medical facilities.
Porridge for Cold and Flu: 50 g of glutinous rice, 7 green onions, 6 g of fresh ginger root. Cook the porridge until done, add the green onions and ginger, cover for 5 minutes, and add seasoning to taste. Eat hot, then lie under a thick blanket to induce sweating.
Bronchitis: 50 g of regular rice, 20 g of lily bulbs. Cook and eat the porridge daily until recovery. Alternatively, use 50 g of regular rice, 30 g of fritillaria bulb, 30 g of hawthorn leaves, and 10 g of rock sugar. Remove the fritillaria bulb’s core, crush it finely with the hawthorn leaves. Each time, take 15 g, mix it with rock sugar, and add to the porridge.
Urinary Tract Infection: 50 g of regular rice, 30 g of coix seeds, 15 g of shepherd’s purse. Wash the shepherd’s purse, boil it to extract the water, then add the rice and coix seeds to cook the porridge. Season to taste and eat twice a day. Alternatively: 60 g of regular rice, 15 g of mung beans, and 20 g of coix seeds. Cook until done, then add rock sugar to eat.
Chronic Cholecystitis: 100 g of regular rice, 50 g of Chinese yam, 30 g of lotus seeds, 50 g of coix seeds. Cook until done, season to taste.
Acute Mastitis: 100 g of regular rice, 50 g of dandelion leaves. Boil the dandelion leaves, use the water to cook porridge for 5 days. This porridge can also be used for patients with ruptured breast abscesses.
Vascular Obstruction: 250 g of regular rice, 10 jujubes, 50 g of Chinese yam, 50 g of red beans. Cook until soft, eat twice a day in the morning and evening.
Insomnia: 50 g of regular rice, 30 g of peeled lotus seeds, 5 g of longan. Cook until done, then add sugar or salt to taste.
Sciatica: 60 g of regular rice, 50 g of goat meat, 10 g of ginger. Cook until tender, season, and eat throughout the day.
Hyperlipidemia: 60 g of regular rice, 15 g of radish seeds. Cook the porridge until done, add the radish seeds, and season to taste.
Obesity: 100 g of regular rice, 1 fresh lotus leaf, 5 g of chrysanthemum flowers, 5 g of bamboo leaves. Boil the leaves and flowers to make water for cooking porridge. Season to taste and eat throughout the day. Alternatively: 100 g of regular rice and 150 g of wax gourd, cook as porridge. This can be varied daily.
Night Sweats: 50 g of regular rice, 5 g of white fungus, 15 g of lily bulbs, 10 g of rock sugar. Cook until done, add sugar to taste, and eat cold.
Roundworm Infestation: 50 g of regular rice, 40 g of lean pork, 9 g of semen cassiae. Cook the porridge with the meat until fully cooked. Crush the semen cassiae, add it to the porridge, boil for 5 minutes, season to taste, and eat throughout the day.
Stye: 60 g of regular rice, 30 g of granulated sugar, 50 pieces of bamboo leaves, 90 g of gypsum. Add water to the pot, put in the gypsum, and boil for 20 minutes, then add the bamboo leaves and boil. Use the water to cook the porridge, adding sugar to taste.
Menstrual Blockage: 50 g of regular rice, 15 g of white sea bean, 50 g of coix seeds, 15 g of hawthorn, 3 g of black pepper, 30 g of brown sugar. Cook and eat the porridge for 7 consecutive days.
Edema During Pregnancy: 50 g of regular rice, 30 g of coix seeds, 15 jujubes, and 3 g of cinnamon. Cook the porridge to eat once a day.
