On January 10th, the French-Vietnamese Hospital signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Eye Centre of Singapore to collaborate on treating eye diseases. Twenty-eight elderly patients suffering from advanced cataracts received free eye surgery using the soft intraocular lens implantation technique (Phaco technique).
With this agreement, patients who previously had to travel to Singapore or Thailand for treatment can now receive care in Vietnam with equivalent quality at a more affordable price, provided their condition is not overly complicated.
For complex cases that cannot be managed at the French-Vietnamese Hospital, patients will be referred to Singapore for further treatment. All procedures will be handled by the Singaporean team.
