If you are suffering from chronic tonsillitis accompanied by bleeding gums, slice 3 pieces of fresh lemon, add 15 g of rock sugar, and steep them in boiling water to make a glass of lemon water. Drink two glasses daily.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, individuals with chronic tonsillitis often have toxins accumulated from the outside. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid consuming raw or cold foods such as ice water, raw vegetables, and salads.
Patients typically have insufficient saliva and sweat, with a strong heat condition. Thus, they should refrain from eating aromatic, dry, and strongly spicy foods like raw garlic, onion, star anise, herbs, pepper, and chili. It is recommended to consume plenty of green vegetables, pickled vegetables, tomatoes, lotus seeds, and water lily tubers.
