Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Quoc Thang presents certificates to the candidates. |
On January 11, 2006, in Hanoi, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and the Information Technology Certification and Training Support Center (VITEC), part of the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park, held a ceremony to award IT engineer certificates. In this session, 200 IT engineers meeting Japanese standards received their certificates.
According to VITEC and JETRO, the standardized IT engineer examinations equivalent to Japanese standards have been conducted in Vietnam since 2001. Over the past four years, nearly 3,000 candidates have participated, with 385 successfully meeting the standards. Candidates who meet the standards are prioritized by the Japanese government for easier work visa issuance and are sought after by Vietnamese IT companies for employment.
The year 2005 marked the second consecutive year that the examinations in Vietnam attracted an increasing number of candidates. Additionally, in 2005, the establishment of the IT Examination Council (ITPEC) was announced, consisting of founding representatives from seven Asian countries. With the coordination of ITPEC, starting in 2006, IT examinations in Vietnam will be held simultaneously on the same day with the same exam questions, in parallel with Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Thailand. These examinations will be fully recognized as equivalent to those conducted in Japan.
