For just 50,000 yen (approximately 430 USD) per month, which is half the cost of a temporary employee, PeopleStaff will send you Hello Kitty, a robot receptionist that can sense the presence of guests, greet them, and engage in simple conversations.
According to PeopleStaff, the Hello Kitty Robo is quite useful for companies, hospitals, and is an ideal evening receptionist for hotels.
PeopleStaff also suggests you consider “renting” Ifbot, a robot designed for elderly care that can chat, present puzzles, and perform arithmetic games to keep seniors mentally active and help prevent dementia. Looking like an astronaut, Ifbot can also monitor its owner’s health. This robot is particularly suitable for hospitals and nursing homes.
A spokesperson from PeopleStaff stated that hiring a human for the same job typically costs over 300,000 yen per month. However, these robots cannot perform all the tasks that humans can.
These robots are set to begin service in February.
