The Kusoa Tribe has a very surprising custom regarding women giving birth.
Pregnant women in Kusoa continue to work at all times of the day, except when they know they are about to give birth. During the pregnancy, they stay in a small hut prepared by their husbands, giving birth without assistance from others. At this time, the woman finds a large leaf and two sturdy sticks, places the leaf on the ground, supports the two sticks, and then slowly squats down to give birth.

Specifically, when a wife is about to give birth, the husband prepares a separate leaf hut. When the time comes, the wife squats and gives birth directly on the dry grass on the ground. After the child is born, it is wrapped in leaves. The husband cannot see his wife and child for seven days, meaning he does not know whether they are alive or dead. During this time, the wife is left alone in the hut to care for her children and herself. This practice is indeed harsh; no matter how strong a person is, they become very weak after giving birth and need someone by their side. After seven days, the family can reunite.
