This is the result of the first research project in Vietnam studying bioluminescent marine organisms activated by ultraviolet (UV) light, which has just been published. The project was conducted by four scientists at the Oceanographic Institute in Nha Trang.
According to the researchers, 14 species of hard corals, one species of soft coral, and two types of sea anemones were identified among 89 marine samples collected in Nha Trang Bay.
The discovery of these bioluminescent marine species holds significant potential applications in various fields of life, including medicine, where it can aid in the research and detection of tumors, cancer, and abnormal changes in living organisms…
