A recent forecast regarding the world’s development scenarios has been created by 1,360 scientists from 95 countries – The United Nations report on the state of ecosystems on the planet.
In this report, scientists have attempted to predict what will happen to our planet by 2050.

The report outlines four development scenarios for Earth across economic and socio-political fields, as well as how these developments will impact humanity and the environment.
According to the first scenario, in the political and economic realms, scientists have noted the strengthening of globalization trends. Furthermore, globalization is not only limited to trade; it also encompasses politics, health, and education. Scientists emphasize that this will not only significantly boost economic development but also lead to a decrease in population.
If development occurs according to the second scenario, we will witness a world composed of many smaller segments (countries). These nations will primarily focus on ensuring their own security and forming beneficial trade relationships with others. Concurrently, global economic development indicators will stagnate at their lowest levels, while the global population will surge.
In the other two development scenarios, scientists have particularly focused on technological development and environmental protection.
According to these scenarios, by around the 2030s of the 21st century, the world population will increase significantly, followed by a gradual decline in the pace of global economic development.
Scientists emphasize that to choose the optimal development path, it is essential to consider all ecosystems as a unified whole rather than as separate segments.
The scientists took four years to produce this research project.
