Researchers have come up with a unique idea to help long-distance couples feel connected. This involves a pair of high-tech glass cups that emit a warm glow every time one of them picks up their cup.

When one person lifts their cup, red electrodes glow on the cup of the other person. When they bring the cup to their lips, the cup lights up even brighter.
Distance is no longer an issue, as liquid sensors and wireless connectivity have been integrated into these cups.
Jackie Lee and Hyemin Chung, researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston, USA, state that drinking water together is a common activity that couples miss when they are apart.
According to Lee, these wireless cups will truly help people feel as if they are sharing a drink together.
The love cups will be unveiled next month at a conference on human-computer interaction in Montreal, Canada.
