The Aspark SP600, the latest electric hypercar model, has officially become the fastest electric car in the world after surpassing the record set by the Rimac Nevera.
In the race to conquer speed among electric vehicles, the Aspark SP600 has impressively broken the previous record held by the Rimac Nevera. This hypercar achieved a top speed of 438.7 km/h on the Papenburg test track, which is 26.7 km/h faster than its Croatian competitor.
This remarkable achievement was set on a 1.8 km straight track at the Papenburg testing area in Germany. Behind the wheel was professional driver Marc Basseng, a former champion of the Nurburgring 24-hour race. The vehicle’s speed was recorded and verified using Racelogic V-Box equipment.

The Aspark SP600 is described as a “production concept prototype” and has not yet been officially unveiled. However, based on initial images, it appears that the SP600 is an upgraded version of the Aspark Owl, featuring an aerodynamically refined design to optimize speed.
It is still unclear whether the company will upgrade the four-motor electric drivetrain that delivers 2,012 horsepower from the Owl. Details regarding the expected production volume and pricing of the Aspark SP600 have also not been disclosed.
Nonetheless, some information has been revealed. To achieve the record, Aspark collaborated with Bridgestone to develop a special tire based on the Potenza Race line. These tires are designed to withstand speeds over 420 km/h while meeting specific weight and handling requirements of the Aspark SP600.

Responsible for the development and production of Aspark’s electric supercars in Italy is the company Manifattura Automobili Torino (M.A.T.). In addition to collaborating with Bridgestone, M.A.T. is also known for producing unique sports cars such as the New Stratos, Glickenhaus SCG003, and Apollo IE.
Aspark CEO Masanori Yoshida stated: “The development journey of the Owl hypercar has lasted about 10 years. Our goal is to create the fastest accelerating car in the world, and today, we have achieved a world record for maximum speed.”
It is expected that M.A.T and Aspark will soon announce further details about the SP600, including specifications. The commercial version of this model may not retain the racing-themed paint job and owl-eye headlights seen on the record-setting vehicle.
